October Player of the Month
November has just flown by, and there's only one match-week left to get yourself nominated for Player of the Month, so good luck everyone that's going for it this week.
In the meantime, the votes are in and I can now announce October's winner, but first, let's take a look at the nominations....
Under-8 - Rio
Again, it’s been a tough choice as the team is smashing it both in training and on matchdays but, Rio is a coaches dream and a teammates dream 👌🏼👌🏼
Rio is always looking to improve, always looking to help his teammates and his team Whether it be in goal , which has even surprised me, how good he is, In the heart of the defence Marshalling the team, On the right or left side of midfield, running the opposition team ragged or as striker scoring goals . He doesn’t look out of place in any of those positions getting at least7/8?rating out of 10 most weeks .
Just a few weeks back we were down to our bear bones due to half term, with players being on Holiday. Rio got out of his sick bed to help his team out and put in a mature stunning performance at the centre of defence
A true Wellingborough Lion 🦁 💙💙
Well done Rio keep up the great work 👍🏼👍🏼
Under-16 - Oliver Mura
Oliver has been with us from literally day 1 when this team was born. Started off as a fast striker and scoring goals for fun in mini soccer. He then put his hand up to go in goal and has been such a huge part of our success and in recent times the way we want to play progressively from the back.
There is nobody more confident in the team, I know that for fact as he has cleanly taken me out on the pitch and I felt it proper 😂.He commands his area and has grown to be the best keeper in our league - that is not me being biased , but every opposition manager always has a mention for Oliver after the game and calls out his performance.
Simon deserves huge credit and a mention as he has spent a lot of time with Oliver developing not just his game but his emotions before a game to switch on and be ready with focus, which Ollie now gets.
In October , Oliver received 2 player of the match performances and saved 2 penalties in different games. He now looks to play out quick from the back and uses his feet more to great effect trusting his backline and midfield.
He is a cult character on the team, and we are all superfans. Cheeky and his infectious joking makes everyone smile. Also remembering he is playing a year up and nobody would know any different!
Well done safe hands Ollie Mura!! We are super proud of you and your progress has been even more amazing this season. Good luck!
Under-13s - Eli
This month’s Player of the Month goes to Eli, whose hard work, positive attitude, and consistent performances have stood out week after week.
Eli has shown incredible determination in every game and training session — always giving 100% and leading by example. One of his standout qualities is his team-first attitude: he’s willing to fill in any position on the pitch whenever needed, and he does it without a single complaint. That flexibility and selflessness make him an invaluable member of the team.
Whether it’s a crucial tackle, a smart pass, or a burst of pace to help the team out of trouble, Eli’s effort never goes unnoticed. He’s become a real driving force for the Lions and a brilliant teammate both on and off the pitch.
Under-14 Panthers - Harley
This month was a real tough decision to pick our Panthers player of the month. Several of the boys could have won, but for October.
Our number 16 Harley.
Harley has had a tough month outside of football, but his focus has never faulted. He always asked how he can improve and trys the suggestions in training and matches.
His confidence in his own abilities has grown so much, these last few weeks. He is very well liked within the team, coaches and parents. He is becoming a real leader on the pitch and always doing extra work outside of training too. Harley is very respectful and coachable, a real joy to have on the team.
Well done Harley and well deserved.
Under-11s – Coud Foster-Stone
Cloud has stood out in every game and played a true Captain's role to lead his team. He is energetic and tireless, driving the team forward in attack and tracking back to defend when we're without the ball.
Cloud has the power and ability to score from outside of the box together with the trickery to create chances for both himself and his teammates. Add the coolly taken penalties into the mix and we have a very good all-round performer.
Cloud is a gifted player and one of the most skilful players around. If we can help him technically and if Cloud applies himself, he can become a very strong player.
Under-7s – Renzo Pink
This kid is UNREAL. A leader. A fighter. A machine. Renzogives 110% every single time he steps on the pitch – training & match daygames, The improvement he’s shown this season has been next-level. The workrate Relentless. The attitude Elite. The football IQ at his age is Differentbreed.
Loved by every single one of his Tiger brothers (and everyparent on the sideline too ).
2nd top scorer in the team
A natural fox in the box – always in the right place at theright time
Covers EVERY blade of grass – week after week
2 Man of the Match awards in 3 weeks
A STAR. IN. THE. MAKING.
He makes coaching EASY. He makes football FUN to watch. Hesets the standard.
Keep shining, Renzo. The journey’s only just gettingstarted. We’re all proud of you, mate.
Under-9s – Amar
October’s player of the month goes to Amar. He is an exceptional player. His consistent growth each week demonstrates a strong commitment to improving his skills and contributing more effectively to the team.
Beyond his technical abilities, Amar's increasing fearlessness on the field shows a remarkable level of courage and determination, essential qualities for any player. What truly sets Amar apart, however, is his outstanding sportsmanship; his polite and caring nature reflects positively on the team. For his dedication, bravery, and exemplary conduct, Amar undoubtedly deserves the Player of the Month award. well done Amar - coach Jake and Irish
Mini’s - Ianis
Ianis has took a while to settle in, but boy he has done brilliantly since he has .
Always doing the ball mastery skills the correct way, Always listening and learning the best he can . Being brave in matches and just being an all round good lad to coach . As with the previous mini nomination he’s going to be some player and whoever has that team in the future have got 2 superstars on their hands
Keep up the good work, Ianis and well done on your nomination 👏🏼💙💙
And the winner, with a unanimous 1st place vote from all four judges, is Oliver Mura. Congratulations Oliver. We all love someone who plays up a year, but when they do it so well and with so much effort and energy, it really does stand out!
Well done to everyone who was nominated for October. Now, you've got a week to get your name in the hat for November, will you?
