March Player of the Month - Last of the season

Club news
April 27, 2026

Now that most of our teams' seasons are over, we wrap up with our last Player of the Month for the 25/26 season.

A lot of our teams wrapped up early this year, so the list of nominations was shorter than normal, but still we have a shortlist of 3 brilliant write ups, and I believe it's a first as two brothers have both been nominated from different teams!

It’s a sibling double for my mini’s and Under 8s for the March Player of the Month

First up is Richie from my mini’s he has been a breath of fresh air since the day he joined us. I’ve got to say, he’s one of the most naturally gifted players we’ve had come through the doors in the two years since we started.

He’s incredibly brave — for his size, he never backs down, whether it’s 1v1 in training or stepping up with the under 8s and putting in tackles against some of their best players.

He’s also seriously skillful, taking on those same under 8s players and beating them. On top of that, he’s got a hell of a left foot — his passing and shooting accuracy are exceptional.

And the best part? He’s always got a smile on his face. An absolute joy to coach.

Ed, the new coach, has got one hell of a player on his hands.

Well done, Richie — keep up the great work, little man 👏⚽

Richie’s older, Brother, Hadley The under 8s Player of the Month

Hadley came to me in late spring last year, and he’s not looked back since. This nomination has been a long time coming — he’s been close almost every month. It really shows how hard he’s worked and how well the whole team has done this season.

I’d say Hadley has been the under 8s’ surprise package this year. He scored our very first goal of the season back in September, and since then he’s gone from strength to strength — especially in front of goal.

Some of the goals he’s scored have been brilliant — a real“fox in the box.” Out of all the new players starting their very first season in September, Hadley is one who’s picked up the most Coach’s and Parent’s Player awards after games.

Keep up the great work, Hadley 👌🏼

U16s March POTM Nomination - Rick

Rick has been with us pretty much from the inception of this team and plays a key role in the heart of our midfield.

Nobody can doubt Ricks commitment and passion, he is the holding midfielder in our team but also plays box to box when needed always being a threat to score a goal from distance or from a set piece.

His plays on the edge and his passion can and does sometimes get the better of him, but we never want to take that away from him but always direct him to channel it in the right way.

I’m so proud to say that his emotional control and learning has improved so much since he joined where he was constantly getting annoyed at himself, his team mates and getting booked in games, where as now he does have his moments, but in the main he is a different lad from then to now - controlling his aggression, praising his team mates and being a leader - need more of all that Ricky!

In March we have not had the best run of results but Rick has always been committed and popped up with 3 goals from midfield keeping us in the hunt in those games.

Keep going son and stay positive always. Your improvement on and off the pitch is clear to see by all of us, coachs, parents and players!
Good luck Rick!

And your winner - and sure to cause some kind of parental headache (sorry!) - is Richie from the Mini's. We all love a bit of natural talent, but alongside bravery and playing with a smile, now that's a dangerous combination for the future!
Congrats to Hadley and Rick too - both strong write ups and came very close.

That's it for this season, see you next year to celebrate more of your kids' being brilliant!
