November & December Player of the Month
With so few games happening over November and December, we've rolled Player of the Month nominations into one, and are awarding TWO winners this time round.
Below are the nominations, some fantastic write ups once again.....
Under 11s
My nomination is for Riley Cooke.
Riley has been outstanding for us and consistently performs to very high standards. His understanding of the game is improving all the time and where he initially struggled learning how to effectively play to offside in our first season, he's quietly starting to master this and adapt his game.
Off the pitch, Riley is one of the quieter members of the team but he's really found his voice on the pitch in the last few weeks and is beginning to influence his team mates and their positioning.
Whenever the ball is played in behind us, both coaches and players expect Riley to tidy up, which invariably he does, even when the odds are against him.
When he has the opportunity, Riley likes nothing better than to drive through the middle of the park and is making some great decisions on when to pass.
We've seen a great improvement in his game that I hope can be maintained throughout the season.
U14 Panthers
Panthers player of the Month for November is Brandon.
Brandon covers every blade of grass during games. He has been fantastic so far this season. He is quick and strong, with great feet. A real asset to the Panther's.
Brandon made the decision to join us this summer after winning promotion and the shield with his former team, last season. He has bought a real, determination and drive to the team. He has built a solid connection with his new teammates and has been in the running for player of the month, all season. But November he has really shown up for the team encouraging teammates when needed even in training.
Brandon has chipped in with 2 Assists and a goal in November too. He is so engaged in training and will even go in goal if needed.
Brandon really is an asset to the Panthers and great to coach.
Under 8S
If I thought my previous nominations were difficult, this month has been by far the most difficult to choose. It could have been any of 3 players, hopefully the other 2 will keep up their good work in the new year. I have no doubt they will, as they both are super players
Under 8s player of the month for November is, Freddie
Freddie has not just continued his impressive game play and training from last season he’s upped it .
He’s been in, goal CB and on the wings but most importantly of all he’s been an inspiration, a leader a player that brings everyone around him to their next level parents too
There’s been games this season where I have thought we’re going to lose our unbeaten record . 2 games in the last month in particular spring to mind.
One game where we were 2-0 down at half time and one where we were 3-1 down at half time . Freddie had been introduced as a, 2nd half game changer in both and boy did he change the games . The game where we were 2-0, Freddie grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck banged in a hattrick and got 2 assists from centre back . That was in my opinion his best ever game for us, and when we were 3-2 down banging in 2 goals at right wing getting 2 assists again. His right foot is a wand and a massive weapon in his forever expanding armoury . Plenty of over coaches have commented after games that his right foot is as powerful as theirs, big praise indeed
Well done Freddie on your nomination keep up the good work. 👌🏼👌🏼
MINIS
Player of the month for the mini’s is Eeshaan
Eeshaan 1st starting coming to the mini sessions just under a year ago. He really struggled to adapt at 1st, but to see his development in that time, you just wouldn’t believe he’s the same boy. Eeshaan has gone from a really shy timid boy who struggled to get involved even with kicking the ball, to a tough tackling brave footballer . I can’t stress enough how pleased I am with his progress. He’s going to play a huge part in whatever team he plays for that’s for sure They will be lucky to have him.
Well done Eeshaan. Keep up the great work 👌🏼👌🏼

Wellingborough Tigers 🐯
U7s – Roman Douglas
Roman, you are the definition of consistency, hard work, and determination.
Every session you train with hunger. Every match you play with heart. You give everything for your team, and it shows. Your vision, your passing, and your ability to link the team together make you a real leader on the pitch. And your goals—some absolutely stunning this season—show just how dangerous you’ve become.
Watching you grow has been incredible. You’re developing not just as a player, but as a person—stronger, smarter, more confident every week. Remember this: aim higher, push harder, and demand more from yourself, because you have the potential to reach levels most players only dream of.
Keep believing, keep working, and keep pushing your limits. You are capable of greatness, Roman. This award isn’t luck—it’s earned. It’s deserved. It’s been coming for a long time.
The squad loves you, the camp believes in you, and I’m proud of you.
Coach Paul 👏🏻
Under 9s
Our Novembers player of the month goes to Captain Harry. He has been with Wellingborough since day 1. He is reliable, he listens to what he has been asked to do. Harry is versatile but he has been playing a lot at the back which he is incredible at.
Although sometimes he lacks in confidence he absolutely he smashes it out there each week and seeing him make some breaks and trusting himself more with shooting has been great to watch, he makes fantastic tackles and always tries his best which is all we as coaches can ask for.
Well done Captain H – coach Jake and Irish.

December POTM nomination is Athishan!
Athishan has been with us since the inception of this team and the biggest compliment I can give him is he is hugely respected equally by his coaches, all parents and teammates as a Tiger that will always give 100% no matter what!
He started an out as a no nonsense defender and nothing has really changed in that manner other than that he has become bigger, stronger and a clever student of the game wanting to defend and play on the deck.
A left footer that shares his obvious love for the team and football with his flourishing cricket life where he plays for the county and has unsurprisingly won numerous awards – an all-round sportsman and team player that filters down to everyone.
In December he was POTM twice while leading the back line. He is not scared of anything, he heads the ball with confidence and power like a pro would, assured in defence and carries an air of responsibility that gives confidence to others. One parent mentioned him in recent times that absolutely describes what he is – “is he made of rubber? He goes down but then just bounces back up to crack on!”
A managers dream. Never had any discipline issues or negative emotions, never booked, always positive no matter what and in recent times has been showing his leadership skills to other team members by being positive when the chips are down.
As a coaching team we always promote positive behaviour on and off the pitch, in and out of football, never give up and treat others how you wish to be treated – the picture dictionary definition of this is Athishan!
A model player that others look up to and sets the example for all players to follow. Athishan you are a wonderful, well rounded, well-mannered special young man that has been an absolute pleasure to coach over the last 7-8 years. Good luck Athi!
Under 16s
November POTM nomination is Pius!
Pius has joined our team this season and has hit the ground running. Stepping up from a Div2 team to Div1 he has seamlessly transitioned into the team and now is pretty much a focal point as an advance midfielder/attacking player.
He is as elegant on the pitch as he is when you talk to him off the pitch. Relaxed, calm and plays at his own pace and ability. A very skilful player that wants the ball and glides across the grass – something is likely to happen when Pius has the ball!
In November Pius has been pivotal in the games where we did well and in one game in particular where we won 3-2 he scored a brace and assisted the winner! A very easy player of the match for that game.
Well done Pius, you are a absolute pleasure to work with, polite, calm and a very well mannered young man that oozes quality and grace, which in fact feeds to others on the team, good luck son!

Throughout a December of ups and downs for the U13 Lions with great wins and a disappointing defeat Sammy has stood out as the engine of the team. Sammy was always a great player but the work he has put in throughout the last year on his fitness (both in training and at home) and distribution has taken him from being just a starter to one of the very first names on the team sheet every week. In December win or lose we never came out of a game where he hadn’t put in more than 100% often running himself into the ground to ensure we were competitive. He is also the ultimate team player when he has position, always looking for a pass to move us forward, leading to multiple assists over the month and always working hard to recover the ball when we’re pushed back. We know he can score goals too but it is the attributes that have really made him stand out this month. Every training session Sammy turns up and puts in 100% always keen to listen and learn and almost always with a smile on his face. Over the entire season so far Sammy has been a coaches dream in matches and training and in December has continued to take his game to another level.
And - from both ends of the WTFC age range - the winners are.....
Eeshaan from the Minis, and Athishan from our Under-16's
Fantastic nominations there kids, well done and keep up the great work!
