January Player of the Month

Club news
March 3, 2026
Now that the mayhem (mainly rain related!) of the last few weeks has died down, let's look back at who impressed their Coaches the most in January, and don't worry, February's will be on hot on their heels!

Under 11's

Edwin is new to the team and has only been playing with us for a couple of months. Despite this, he's quickly establishing himself as a key member of the team and showing great potential.

Edwin has played in various positions as we look to find his best role and has excelled wherever he plays. His altheticism and natural ability shines through and if he continues to listen and dedicate himself, he's an exciting prospect. Edwin is calm under pressure, makes the right choice of passing options and has now added scoring goals to his toolkit.

Keep up the great start Edwin!

Under 13's

A massive shout to Ethan, who has truly gone from strength to strength in his role at right back.

Ethan has been fearless on the pitch, showing confidence in every challenge and consistently giving his all for the team. His defensive work rate and determination have not gone unnoticed, and he continues to grow in both ability and understanding of the game.

What really stands out is his focus in training. Ethan is always willing to learn and improve — not just his own performance, but helping to raise the standards of those around him as well. His positive attitude and commitment set a fantastic example for the squad.

He rarely misses a training session and is always on time, which is exactly the standard we ask of all our players.

Well done, Ethan. Keep up the hard work it’s paying off 👏⚽

U14 Panthers

Our January player of the month is our number 20 Joseph.

The attitude change in Joseph since the festive break has been superb, he has become a real team player. His mindset has gone from"Me to We" he is encouraging his teammates so much more. His attitude in training has changed too, hes asking how he can improve and taking on board what the coaches are telling him.

During matches he is constantly causing defenders problems with his pace and he is currently averaging a goal contribution every game.

While his fashion sense is questionable 🤣.He has turned a corner and is a real asset to the Panther's

Well done Joseph

Under 8's

Since Jacob has joined, he’s taken, not only his game but the teams game to another level. Jacob is willing to play anywhere just to play football and help his team out Wherever, it’s in goal, where he is brave and his decision making is excellent, The last line of defence where his tough tackling and pace is second to none or on the wing where he’s beating defenders for fun and scoring ridiculous amounts of goals and assists

One game in January in particular where he was all 3 players I’ve just described .

He Made great saves in the 1st half to keep us in the game ,he then came out on pitch on the wing and ran absolutely riot scoring 2 assisting 3 and when we decided to give the opposition full back a rest he dictated the game from centre back

I’m one lucky coach to have so many that are willing to do this for me and the team...

Jacob has got the most infectious smile and Laugh that you just can’t help but warm to .He hardly ever misses a training session . He just wants to get better and better, this lad eat sleeps and breathes football

He’s turning into a wonderful little player

Keep on being happy, Jacob with that smile, Laugh and great attitude 👌🏼👌🏼

Under 16's

Caleb has been with the tigers pretty much from the start and has grown with the team, now towering over his coaches, as most of the tigers are 😂. Caleb joined as a striker and has always been a forward player in the main, however he has shown versatility to play where needed, whether that be centre back or midfield, he will do a job.

He now understands the need for doing a job for the team when needed for a given situation. Caleb has stepped up in recent times and we have seen a noticeable improvement in his confidence and forward play in training and games. In January he scored a goal a game and is now knocking at the door to start up top. His positioning is always excellent and evolves in him getting numerous chances in a game.

Caleb also is a huge part of the banter and jokes on the team, often the centre of it all but he gives as good as he gets and all joking aside is a very popular member of the team. Caleb, I can see the improvements and the new found confidence you have , well done for pushing yourself and I love talking and laughing with you at some of the silly stuff that goes on, it all makes for a strong team bond, being serious to play and learn but also importantly to have fun while we play with smiles on our faces. Good luck son!

Under 15 Tigers

With very few games in January it’s a tough call this. Any other month, Kiel would’ve been a shoo-in after his hat-trick performance against Weekley, but on the strength of his efforts both on and off the pitch recently, I have to give it to Alfie Kightley.

I challenged Alfie, along with a couple of others, to step up and become senior leaders within the team. To be the voices on the pitch who ensure that the efforts and attitudes of everyone on the team match the philosophy and approach that we’ve agreed as a unit. Recently Alf has really stepped up to this challenge, and although it’s difficult and often goes against his typically fiery nature, it’s his passion for the game and his team that makes him the perfect choice for this role.

Alfie has learned so much more about the sport since we came into 2026, and January was his defining moment. He’s been a standout in every game – he always is – but that’s not the reason for this nomination, it’s his willingness to challenge himself, to find ways to grow, and to take ownership on behalf of his team and put himself forward as the example that earns him this nomination.

Well, that and the fact he volunteered to go in goal for a match when George couldn’t, and he was bloody phenomenal!! Brave, loud, commanding, dominant, and a real asset to the team yet again.

Thank you Alfie, I’m super proud of watching how you’re developing right now.

Scoring these nominations was very tight, so tight in fact that we have a tie for 1st place.

Congratulations to Ethan from our Under-13's and Alfie from the Under-15 Tigers who are your joint Player of the Month for January. Both of these nominations share similar themes in terms of leadership, attitude, and what they do for the wider team. These are amazing characteristics to read about in these young players, something to be proud of.

I'd like to also commend Caleb from the Under-16's who was only 1 vote away from making it a 3-way tie! Your write up is great Caleb, keep it up!
